Toyota has issued a recall for over 43,000 Sequoia Hybrid vehicles due to a potential issue with the tow hitch cover attached to the rear bumper. The company reported that the hitch cover might detach from the bumper and fall into the roadway, creating a potential hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
To address the defect, Toyota dealers will replace the tow hitch cover and modify the rear bumper at no cost to the vehicle owners. Notification letters are expected to be mailed by October 5, 2024.
