Porsche has issued a recall for 1,851 units of its 718 and 911 sports cars from the 2024 model year due to a potential issue with the center lock wheel fastening system.
The German automaker has advised owners to immediately park their vehicles and contact their local Porsche dealership. The company explains that a “center lock fracture could potentially result in loss of a wheel or degradation in steering control.”
The company has informed federal safety officials that it is aware of “several incidents” related to this issue, though the exact cause of the Porsche recall is still under investigation.
