General Motors is recalling 21,469 Cadillac Lyriq electric SUVs from the 2023-2024 models in the U.S. due to concerns about the unexpected activation of the anti-lock brake system, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The issue will be addressed through an over-the-air software update.
The GM electric SUV recall follows a preliminary evaluation by the NHTSA in April, which looked into over 3,000 Cadillac Lyriq vehicles regarding complaints about the loss of brake assist. Anti-lock brake systems are crucial for preventing wheels from locking during braking, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.
If your vehicle is affected by this recall, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions to receive the necessary over-the-air update. For any additional vehicle concerns or repairs, Collision Connect can help you find a trusted repair center to keep your vehicle running smoothly and safely.
