Ford is recalling more than 144,000 of its 2022-2024 Maverick pickup trucks due to a potential rearview camera malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Thursday.
The Ford Maverick recall involves the Connected Touch Radio system, where the rearview camera image may freeze when the vehicle is in reverse, reducing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will address the problem by updating the radio software at no cost to owners. Recall notification letters are expected to be mailed by September 30. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall number 24S59.
Additionally, the NHTSA has issued recall notifications for over 161,000 Ford F-150 and Maverick vehicles due to parking lights that may flicker, posing safety hazards.
