Jeep, under the Stellantis umbrella and represented by FCA US LLC in the U.S., has issued a recall for 32,863 Gladiator pickup trucks and Wrangler SUVs, spanning model years 2020 through 2024, due to potential instrument panel cluster failures. These vehicles, produced in Ohio, have been identified as having a risk of short circuiting without warning.
Investigations into this issue began on October 14, 2022, with FCA US LLC and Stellantis analyzing warranty return parts and failure patterns until August 2024. The supplier, Marelli North America, conducted extensive tests, leading to the consensus that a safety recall was inevitable.
Starting September 12, 2024, dealers will replace the 3.5-inch instrument panel cluster with a newly designed circuit board to rectify the issue. Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified starting October 3, 2024, and will not incur any costs for the replacement or labor.
Owners are advised to check if their vehicle is affected by entering their 17-character VIN on the Jeep website or using the NHTSA’s online VIN look-up tool.
