Ford Motor Company has recalled nearly 73,000 vehicles, including the 2021 Ford Expedition, 2021-2022 Ford Super Duty, and 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair, due to a potential malfunction with their rearview cameras.
The affected vehicles may experience intermittent or persistent loss of image on the rearview camera, which could distort the driver’s view of what’s behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The issue is believed to be related to the cameras supplied by Magna, though the exact cause has not yet been determined. Ford has identified over 6 reported complaints related to this issue but has not been made aware of any accidents or injuries.
The Ford recall affects a total of 72,624 vehicles, and owners will be notified starting February 17, 2025. Owners will be instructed to visit a dealer for a free repair, once the remedy is available. Ford will also offer reimbursements for any repairs owners have paid for prior to receiving the recall notice.
To check if your vehicle is affected, you can use your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the NHTSA website.
